Like most Councils. I guess we are busy as ever trying to keep up with all that has to be done. Hydrology staff (Rob Tasker, Allen Temple, Sandrine Le Gars, Alan Bee and Dale Hansen) have plenty to do. So too does Emily Walker, our Water Allocation Officer and Ananda Hapu, our Groundwater Officer. Since the start of the financial year the SOE and Rivers groups have requested 16 new surface water level, rainfall and groundwater sites to be installed and two old sites are to be completely rebuilt — all before Christmas! Site investigations and permission are holding up a few, but as of the 1st of November three rainfall, three water level, one revamp and a repeater link have gone in. November to Christmas should see five more installs before a summer break. The rest will go in next year. Our target had been 18 sites in 18 weeks but that was a little ambitious.
