Australia's Atlas Iron hit by weaker iron ore exports, higher costs

Australian Atlas Iron’s exports of ironore fell in the October-December quarter asit wrapped-up operations at one of its mines,while it also saw increased operating costs, thecompany said Monday.Its iron ore exports slid 46% year onyear and 26% quarter on quarter in October-December to 2.20 million wet mt, Atlas said inits quarterly report. The shipments were evenlysplit, with 1.10 million wmt of standard fines andthe same for lump product, it said.
