London—Atlantic met coal markets on Wednesday saw US costs supporting spot values, with soft demand continuing. Limited offer interest from the US to follow prompt-loading Australian-blended mid-vol trades to China was seen. The increased supply and concentration in spot trade for semipremium mid-vol coals from Australia bound for China may be becoming less relevant for tracking US trade values as they are not benchmark low-vols, and offers in the Atlantic have declined as demand has weakened in most global markets.
