Asia met coal prices steady, met coke weakens

Singapore—Asia-Pacific metallurgical coal prices were steady amid a slow start to the week, with both buy and sell sides showing no urgency to transact. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol steady at $116/ mt FOB Australia July 6, while PLV CFR China was steady at $129/mt CFR China. The spot market saw thin activity as many buyers adopted a cautious stance on the back of limited import quota. Meanwhile, sources said sellers were not in a hurry to make any offers as well, as “we are still assessing and observing buyer’s willingness to pay."
