Import prices for Turkish ferrous scrap inched higher on Tuesday as steelmakers’ procurement of the raw material continued. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $305/mt CFR Tuesday, up $1.00/mt from Monday. One recycler sold Baltic-origin HMS 1/2 (80:20) at $305/mt and bonus at $310/mt CFR to an Izmir-based mill in a deal done Monday or Tuesday, several sources told Platts.
