Met coal prices to China gain on fresh bookings

Asian coking coal prices inched up Wednesday on increased buying interest for Premium Low Vol cargoes loading in April into China despite a slowdown in coke prices and a dip on an FOB Australia basis. S&P Global Platts assessed PLV coal down 50 cents to $212.75/mt FOB Australia, while the CFR China was up $2/mt to $212/mt Wednesday. In China, a trade was concluded Wednesday for 85,000 mt of Australian PLV Saraji at $212/mt CFR China with April 20-29 laycan. The buyer source said this procurement was for restocking purpose.
