China iron ore concs underperform 65% Fe imports as steel margins weak

London—Chinese domestic iron ore 66% Fe concentrate prices are increasingly trending below 65% Fe CFR China prices, as more iron ore production in China helps address alternatives to imports of high grade fines and pellets at a time of high prices. The S&P Global Platts 65% Fe import index and Platts 66% China concentrate index DDP Tangshan index, adjusted ex-VAT at 13% and at prevailing exchange rates, were closer to parity in early May.
