Gurgaon—Capesize freight rates in the Pacific fell Monday amid slow activity seen out of Western Australia for iron ore, but sentiment in the Atlantic continued strong on the back of vessels getting fixed for prompter laycans at higher levels, market participants said. "I think [the market] this week will drop [in the Pacific]. I still see many Pacific ships," a shipbroker said. A ship-operating source said that the market was looking softer as some owners were happy to sell, which was keeping the market a bit shaky.
