China's steel sentiment up, but still bearish

Singapore—The outlook for China’s steel market remains extremely bearish, with high steel inventories and subdued domestic demand expected to continue depressing prices in the near-term, according to an industry survey. The S&P Global Platts China Steel Sentiment Index (CSSI) edged up slightly to 15.97 out of a possible 100 points in July, the highest reading since April but still well below the 50 threshold.
