CIS pig iron price rollover not accepted by buyers

Black Sea merchant pig iron suppliers have kept their target prices stable for export markets but failed to gain traction amid buyers, sources said. Until Thursday night it seemed CIS suppliers were fighting a losing battle trying to resist pressure to cut their offers amid bearish scrap and steel sentiment. However, the announcement on halving the safeguard tariffs on Turkish steel import to the US on Thursday night gave boost to the sentiment, at least for a few days.
