Rosneft Wins Tax Breaks For Giant Siberian Field

Rosneft has managed to agree on huge tax breaks for the giant Samotlor field in Western Siberia that could total $6 billion. The state-controlled Russian major said the finance ministry is to present by Oct. 15 a draft law on granting an investment stimulus for Samotlor in the form of a reduction in the mineral extraction tax worth 35 billion rubles ($600 million) per year for a total period of 10 years.
