Uzbekistan Upgrades Gas Pipeline Network

Uztransgaz, the state-owned trans- mission system operator (TSO) in Uzbekistan, is lining up foreign part- ners for major investment programs to upgrade its decrepit gas pipeline network. Ulugbek Sayidov, the company’s chairman, told Energy Intelligence in Tashkent that it would soon announce a tender for laying down a new high- pressure gas pipeline, building and repairing compressor stations, and ex- panding the capacity of an under- ground storage chamber in the Fergana Valley in eastern Uzbekistan.
