Gazprom has secured a green light from Turkey for a Europe-bound link of the Turk Stream gas pipeline project, but gave a price discount for Ankara in return which cost the Russian gas giant an extra $1 billion. A protocol was signed on May 26 with the Turkish government on an onshore continuation of Turk Stream’s second 15.75 Bcm/yr offshore line designed for sales to Europe. The first line of the same capacity is solely for Turkey’s consumption.
