摘要

Mother Nature may be lending a hand in cleaning up the Gulf of Mexico after the BP oil spill disaster. Officials involved in the response effort say they are seeing fewer oil slicks in the region since the ill-fated Macondo well was temporarily capped in mid-July. “You know, we’re having trouble finding patches of oil,” Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen told reporters on Wednesday. “The fact of the matter is - from our overflights and our surveillance -we’re seeing less and less oil, and the oil that we do see is weathered, it’s sheen, and sometimes it’s not that effective to skim it.”
