A UK company specializing in the redevelopment of old industrial sites on Thursday unveiled proposals for a £400 million ($606 million) marine energy park in northeastern England. Able UK said the park on the south bank of the Humber estuary could become a base for construction of turbines for huge North Sea wind farms as well as the development of biomass generation. Able Executive Chairman Peter Stephenson said the potential demand for facilities to assemble wind turbines onshore and ship them to locations offshore is huge. He said the offshore wind areas of Dogger Bank, Hornsea and Norfolk Bank will require 5,000 turbines to deliver their full capacity.
