US October cumene contract prices drop 11% on falling benzene contracts, lower RGP costs

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US October cumene contract values dropped nearly 11% over the prior month on falling benzene contract prices and lower refinery-grade propylene (RGP) costs.Cumene contract prices are formula based and tied to current-month costs for feedstocks benzene and RGP. October benzene contract prices fell by 14 cents/gal and RGP spot values fell to just above 17 cents/lb, down from roughly 20 cents/lb in the prior month.
