The Ukrainian government has approved the award of three tenders for onshore upstream operating licences, under production-sharing terms, to Czech en- ergy holding EPH Group and UK frm York Energy. But defning the terms of the production-sharing agreements (PSAs) may prove more difcult. EPH Group will develop the Grunivska and Okhtyrska oil and gas felds through Netherlands-based subsidiary EP Ukraine, investing 500mn hryvnia ($18.3mn) at each. York Energy will work on the on Ichnyanska feld, investing at least HRN900mn. Both companies have committed to drill 2-3 exploration wells and to conduct 3D seismic surveys at each of the licence areas during the initial fve-year exploration stage.
