Coal India’s output falls in september

Indian state-controlled producer Coal India’s (CIL) output declined by around 23.5pc in September from a year earlier to 30.8mn t, curtailed by heavy monsoon rains during the month. The firm produced 241mn t of coal in April-September, the first six months of India’s April 2019-March 2020 fiscal year, down by 6pc from the year-earlier period.
