Healthy living pharmacy model tuned into behaviour change techniques

PHARMACISTS behind the healthy living pharmacy (HLP) model have welcomed new national guidance aimed at introducing a behaviour change approach to improving public health. The guidance from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence puts forward 17 recommendations for healthcare professionals, NHS commissioners and others, to help promote services that adopt evidence-based behaviour change techniques in tackling issues such as weight management, smoking cessation and alcohol misuse.
