Mixing it: how a community pharmacist DJ helps increase local happiness

THE prospect of being able to help improve the health of people living in my neighbourhood attracted me to a career in pharmacy, and work experience in a community pharmacy fuelled that ambition. As a community pharmacist I can do more to help and advise people than many other professionals. I enjoy the interaction with customers, including the retail side, having helped my father in his shop in the market from a young age. I opted for community rather than hospital pharmacy because it offers more contact with patients over a longer period. Patients are in hospital for a short time, whereas relationships in the community can extend over years.
