LPFs explore new methods for improving patient safety

AS PART of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's medicines safety campaign this autumn, local practice forum members across Wales have been meeting to learn more about the latest ways to improve patient safety, as outlined in the "Quality improvement guide — pharmacy edition" produced by 1,000 Lives Plus. Cathryn Richards, head of pharmaceutical services at HMP Swansea, attended one of the RPS events in Swansea on 12 September 2012. "The event was really useful in explaining exactly how to use the guide and now I can see how it could definitely change the way I do things," she said. "It's so user-friendly, full of step-by-step instructions on how to make improvements to patient safety, and how to put them into practice on a local level. It could make a big difference to my patients very quickly."
