Working to create an open, just culture in pharmacy that improves patient safety

EARLIER this year, The Pharmaceutical Journal reported the results of a preliminary survey by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society looking at pharmacists' perceptions of patient safety in the workplace (FJ 2012;289:105). Over 1,700 members took part, indicating that patient safety is of paramount importance to pharmacists. The key messages from this survey were that most pharmacists believe their working environment to be safe and would be happy to be treated as a patient there.
