Alcohol-use screening and brief interventions are to be offered by pharmacists in the Wirral as an enhanced pharmaceutical service. Wirral Primary Care Trust launched a similar programme through GP surgeries last year and the PCT believes this is the first time in the UK that such a service will be rolled out through pharmacies.
