Keeping the day-to-day business of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society going while trying to disentangle its regulatory and professional functions would be a huge challenge at any time. But trying to do this amid the current barrage of pharmacy-related Government initiatives is even more tricky.Referring to the recent policy documents for England-the pharmacy White Paper, the Darzi review and the primary and community care strategy-Wendy Harris, the Society's new deputy registrar, says:"The trust and confidence that is being placed in pharmacy by Parliament is,I think,as high as it has ever been.We should not lose sight of those opportunities or what we should be trying to do to harness that momentum. That is the hardest part to achieve given that we have also got this disentanglement of our functions and alignment into the two bodies."
