Immunisation against meningococcus B (I)

The Meningitis Research Foundation is extremely disappointed on behalf of its many thousands of members whose lives have been blighted by meningococcal disease, at the interim decision of the UK Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) not to recommend the new meningococcal B (Men B) vaccine. Taking this decision could hamper the UK Government in reducing child deaths, which it has pledged to do because UK child deaths are now among the worst in Europe as evidenced by recent studies, all citing meningococcal disease as a factor.
