Sequa spikes deal to buy into Norwegian fields

Dutch energy group Sequa Petroleum announced Tuesday it was canceling a deal to buy strategic chunks of two Norwegian oil and gas fields, Gina Krog and Ivar Aasen, but the operators of both indicated that the move would have no impact on their timetables for first production. Sequa said it had decided not to progress with its deal announced last October to buy 15% of Total’s stake in Gina Krog, a transaction that would have cost it NOK1.4 billion ($172 million).
