Argentina’s YPF, Petronas to press on with shale oil project

Buenos Aires—State-run Argentinian energy company YPF and Malaysian national oil company Petronas agreed Wednesday to move forward with a shale oil project in Argentina, buoyed by promising results so far. The companies started developing the La Amarga Chica block in 2015, targeting the Vaca Muerta shale play in the southwestern province of Neuquen.
