Algeria targets 20% oil, gas output boost

Algiers-Algeria is hoping to see its oil and gas production rise by more than a fifth to 241 million mt/year (4.84 million boe/d) by 2020, helped by new spending on upstream projects, Algeria’s energy minister Salah Khebri said late Thursday. The target, which would be a record high for the country, is based on expectations of more than $70 billion in planned oil and gas sector investments to 2020, Khebri told Algeria’s national council.
