Gibson to add 3.2 million barrels of storage

Canadian midstream player Gibson Energy is moving ahead with plans to add 3.2 million of crude storage capacity in Alberta, anticipating medium-term growth in oil sands output in the province, CEO Stewart Hanlon said Wednesday. Some 2.9 million barrels will be built at its main terminal at Hardisty, while another 300,000 barrels of storage capacity and an expansion of its crude-by-rail loading facility is also under construction at Edmonton, he said on an earnings call.
