London—The bombing by Libya’s air force of a Greek-owned oil tanker berthed at the port of Derna on Sunday is likely to deter oil vessels from calling at any of the North African country’s ports, shipowner sources and Libya’s state-owned NOC said Monday. The attack—reportedly ordered due to suspicions over the tanker’s movements—adds to the significant disruption that the Libyan oil sector has been suffering in recent months with production down to just 200,000 b/d from highs of some 1 million b/d at the end of October.
