Kurds ramping up oil export pipelines

London—Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government has been busy expanding its oil export infrastructure, increasing its pipeline to 750,000 b/d from 600,000 b/d, with plans to hit 1 million b/d by early 2016, the KRG’s natural resources minister said Tuesday. Ashti Hawrami, speaking at an Iraq oil conference in London, said more pumps were needed to maintain pressure in the pipeline over the mountain route in both Kurdistan and Turkey to the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan.
