Korea Gas LNG sales fall due to a mild winter

Seoul-State-owned Korea Gas Corp. said Tuesday its LNG sales fell 7.1% year on year to 4.03 million mt in January due mainly to a milder winter this year. LNG is widely used for heating and power generation in South Korea. Sales to power utilities in the month fell 11.9% year on year to 1.57 million mt and to retail gas companies for household and business use fell 3.9% to 2.46 million mt, Kogas said.
