摘要

Jerusalem—Following the signing Friday of an updated memorandum of understanding between Australia’s Woodside Petroleum and the partners developing the giant Leviathan gas field offshore Israel, the big question now is how much gas from the field will be exported and where and how it will be moved. Uncertainty over the potential for Leviathan gas to be exported had been seen as an obstacle to Woodside firming up its deal to take a stake in the project. Leviathan will initially be developed for the domestic market, and the lead partners in the project—the US’ Noble Energy and Israel’s Delek Group—have said they hope to begin commercial production in late 2017.
