China’s piped gas imports rise 10% in February

Singapore—China imported 1.67 million mt of natural gas via pipelines in February, rising 9.9% from a year earlier but down 6% from January. The Customs office records natural gas trade data in metric tons, similar to LNG imports. The volume works out to about 2.31 billion cubic meters of pipeline gas imported in February. Pipeline imports from Turkmenistan last month gained 7.5% year on year to 1.51 million mt, although Uzbek supplies slumped 82.3% year on year to 21,227 mt, General Administration of Customs data released Wednesday showed.
