Russia plans oil trading threshold on local exchanges

Moscow—Russian oil producers will be asked to sell at least 10% of their crude production on the country’s commodity exchange floors under a new trading requirement to help establish benchmark crude prices in the domestic market, the head of Russia’s antitrust regulator said Wednesday. The antitrust regulator FAS and the energy ministry have agreed to introduce a voluntary trading threshold for crude oil trading on commodity exchanges, FAS deputy head Anatoly Golomolzin said Wednesday.
