Ophir buoyed by Tanzania gas asset sale

Cape Town-Shares in the UK's Ophir Energy soared on Thursday after the Africa-focused company agreed to a $1.3 billion sale of a stake in gas fields in Tanzania to Singapore- based Pavilion Energy. Ophir said it had agreed to sell 20% of blocks 1, 3, and 4 where it has made several gas discoveries with partner BG Group. It added that the blocks are estimated to hold 15 Tcf of gas, enough to build an onshore LNG plant.
