London—Crude futures climbed sharply on April 29, bolstered by market anticipation that further monetary easing measures could be in store for Europe, analysts said. NYMEX June crude settled $1.50/b higher at $94.50/b after surging to a more than twoand- a-half week high in afternoon US trade. The front-month contract peaked at $94.69/b ahead of the settle, its highest level since April 10.
