摘要

Vienna—Nigeria and Angola are targeting Asian consumers for their crude as US appetite for imported oil falters on the back of the US shale oil boom, ministers of both OPEC member nations said Wednesday. “The US was our fifth largest export destination so as with most of Africa, we have been impacted,” Nigerian oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke said ahead of OPEC’s meeting in Vienna. “We are therefore now having to look at the Far East, India and China to drum up much more a customer base there,” she said. Nigeria was exporting more than 1 million b/d of crude to the US in early 2010, but by last year this had fallen to less than half that level.
