Tokyo Gas plans Ibaraki gas infrastructure

Tokyo-Japan's largest city gas utility Tokyo Gas signed an agreement with the Ibaraki pre- fecture government on Wednesday to acceler- ate the development of natural gas infrastruc- ture in the prefecture. The deal follows a basic agreement inked between Tokyo Gas and the Ibaraki prefecture government in December 2009, and comes after comments from a senior company execu- tive that Japan would consider building a pipeline from Sakhalin in Russia's Far East to Kashima in Ibaraki.
