Singapore—Taiwan CPC’s 220,000 b/drefinery in Tashe, Kaohsiung, was unaf-fected by an explosion and fire that hit otherparts of the company’s refinery and petro-chemical complex April 6, company sourcessaid April 9.The 220,000 b/d refinery was running at70%-80% of capacity April 9, unchanged fromMarch, sources said.The early-morning fire was caused by aleak from a pipe that connects butadiene pro-duction and storage facilities at the site. TheTaipei Times said firefighters spent more thanfive hours extinguishing the fire and that nocasualties had been reported so far.
