Cyprus pins hopes on more gas discoveries

Nicosia—Cyprus, currently in the planning phase of how to bring its newly discovered natural gas riches to market, is hoping that additional quantities of gas will be discovered in the blocks to be awarded later this year to foreign bidders. The Mediterranean island state is also targeting Europe as its main export market and is moving ahead with plans to build an LNG terminal at Vasilikos along the country’s southern Mediterranean coast.
