France's Total to move ahead on Venezuela gas field

London-France's Total said July 9 it has decided to proceed with a new phase of its Yucal Placer natural gas field in Venezuela to boost output to three times current production. In a statement, Total said that together with its partners-Spain's Repsol, Swedenbased Inepetrol and Venezuela-based Otepi-the production capacity of the field will be increased "as soon as in 2012" and would ultimately reach a plateau of 300,000 Mcf/d.
