German RWE Dea starts UK Clipper South gas field

London—Germany’s RWE Dea has brought onstream the UK’s Clipper South gas field in the southern North Sea, the company said August 13. Gas production from the Clipper South field began on August 11 at initial rates of 1.2 million cubic meters/day (43,000 Mcf/ day), RWE said. The Clipper South field is in the Sole Pit Basin in the southern North Sea. The field holds total estimated gas volumes of around 13 billion cubic meters (500 Bcf) in tight Permian sandstones.
