India’s state-owned GAIL considers new LNG terminal

Mumbai—India’s state-owned gas transportation utility GAIL is studying a possible LNG terminal either in West Bengal or Orissa on the east coast, Chairman B.C.Tripathi said July 30 in televised comments. There are three other LNG terminals likely to come up on the east coast, including one at Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh where GAIL’s retail gas distribution subsidiary is working on a 3.5 million-5 million mt/year floating storage and regasification unit.
