US approves ConocoPhillips’ Alaska permit

Anchorage—The US Army Corps of Engineers December 19 issued a permit for ConocoPhillips’ CD-5 project, providing for construction of a disputed bridge across the Colville River near the Alpine oil field on the Alaska North Slope. CD-5 is within the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska and its development would lead to the first commercial oil production from NPR-A.
