Mari Gas makes discovery in Pakistan's Karak block

Karachi-Pakistan's Mari Gas has made an oil discovery in the Karak block on the border of the northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources said in a statement October 14. The discovery, which has additional potential for associated natural gas, was made with the Halini well, spudded on January 7 and drilled to a depth of 5,350 meters. In initial tests, the well produced at 1,700 b/d, the ministry said.
