D6 expected to deliver despite new setback

Singapore-Reliance Industries Limited should reach its planned production target of 80 million cubic meters/d (2.82 Bcf/d) of natural gas from the giant deepwater D6 block in the KG Basin, off India's east coast, by the second quarter of financial year 2013-2014 (April-March) despite recent setbacks, Bernstein Research said in a report issued May 4. RIL has a 90% stake in D6, with Canada's Niko Resources holding the remaining 10%. BP in February agreed to take a 30% stake in 23 RIL blocks, including D6, but its exact shareholding in D6 is not known.
