China's third West-East gas line to start by end-2013

Singapore-China's third West-East gas pipeline will begin operations by the end of 2013, carrying about 30 billion cubic meters a year of natural gas from Central Asia to the southeastern province of Fujian, state media China Daily reported November 17. The 5,200 km (3224 mile) pipeline project will include one artery, six branch lines, three gas storage facilities and one LNG terminal. The state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation will start construction of the third West-East pipeline this year, the company's newsletter, China Petroleum Daily, said at the end of August.
