Pemex aims to drill deep Gulf well in early 2012

Mexico City-Pemex will drill the first of three deepwater wells in Mexican territorial waters only 18 miles from the maritime border with the US in the Perdido Fold Belt early next year, a source at the state company said October 17. The wells are expected to be drilled in some 2,800 meters of water, by far the deepest ever attempted by Pemex.
