Moscow—Russia’s Tatneft said December 19 it has not signed any deal to develop heavy oil deposits in Iran despite Iranian media reports the company’s chairman inked a deal December 18 to restart production at the idled Zagheh field. Tatneft in 2008 signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran’s state-owned NIOC for cooperation in Iran’s oil sector, but no concrete agreements have been made since then.
